Equal Pay Amendment Passed

The Equal Pay Amendment was passed by Congress. It was the first legislation designed specifically to guarantee equal pay for women. the next year the Civil Rights Act set up the Equal Opportunity Commission, which was also mandated to enforce anti-discrimination laws against women.
